Reader Feedback on "Crashing the Pool Party"
Awesome article. I am currently obsessed with One Tree Hill and before that it was Dawson's Creek, though Joey Potter was a prettier, more adored version of myself. I am getting an MFA in Writing and Literature, I work full time, I pride myself on being edgey, but I love bad TV. I think for me it also has to do with the idealized relationships. Everything is so important and everyone is so in love. If only life were like that... Anyway, great article. --BR 02/02 |
i have a new theory on these: women being obsessed with young, perfect female specimens is to men being obsessed with sports and sport figures. they're both activities where the same sex watches the perfect physical representation of "their team." your boyfriend who sits on the couch in his sports jersey watching men more muscular, handsome, athletically skilled than he will ever be is no different than you watching the victorias secret fashion show, and ordering up the bra and panties giselle bundchen has on. it's animalistic, and, apparently, inescapable. --c 01/31 |
my guilty pleasure shows are on the noggin channel. degrassi the next generation, instant star, and their new show i think its called south by southwest is loaded with teen drama that goes everywhere. try it and see if you get hooked --ali 01/30 |
