Very interesting. I thought the questions were really revealing, and I certainly learned a few things. Hey, I'm not the only one rimming etc. out there, that's for sure. Well, I actually knew that, but it's hard to swallow that 22% of the people who did the survey believe that Scientology is not a cult. I've read a considerable amount about this subject, and Scientology is certainly one of the biggest. L Ron Hubbard's most infamous quote is, "The fastest way to make a million dollars is to start a cult." He was nothing but a very verbose fat fuckfraud who took a lot of money from a lot of people, and his org still does, after his death.

Anyway, I have digressed a tad. Great work on the survey, Nerve.

I thought this question was problematic- "Have you ever dumped someone because of their religious beliefs (or spirituality, or moral values)?" I'd dump someone if they cheated, stole, lied habitually, etc. But as it's phrased, it sounds like you might dump someone for being Catholic, Agnostic, Buddhist, etc. Wonder if this skewed the outcome.

Oh

This "survey" just proves that most Nerve.com readers are out of touch with the American mainstream.

This was great. I agreed with most of it. Some of it seems to me that people are much more health than the media portrays them, which to me is very good.

Very telling of the decline of traditional morals amongst the younger population, well nerve readers anyway. Quite frightening actually. I was disgusted at how hugh a percentage don't find abortion at all immoral, its only a matter of time until infanticide is accepted in this country.
Truly amazing, yet not surprising, the complete lack of respect for themsevelses todays "youth" has, as well as that of the unborn. Makes me truly sick and sad about the future of this country.

Poll carefully avoided the concept of children and sex though there is much of it in the news lately. It also avoided predatory use of sex which has been the fundamental reason that religion imposes sexual mores in society.

This may be a possible poll that might be taken to identify attitudes more finely tuned to the impact of sex. For example, prostitution received few votes as prohibitive, but many prostitutes are trafficked individuals, a valid point to be made when assessing acceptance, or tolerance.

The same could be said for procurement or solicitation between adults - and teens, though money may not be the exchange motive. Perhaps power exchanges? These questions have emerged in recent days to identify circumstances felt to be borderline issues that concern ethical perceptions of sexuality and public endorsement. Were these not the same issues evoked which formed part of the foundation upon which Clinton was impeached?
