The Nerve Writer’s Network:
In addition to our traditional process of commissioning stories from the best writers and artists around, we’re excited to announce a new way to write for Nerve. The Nerve Writer’s Network is a members only network of writers that contribute to Nerve.com.
Why Write For Nerve?
Since 1997, Nerve has been a launchpad for young phenomenal writers to find their voice and missions. Some of the most important story tellers in the world have used Nerve to share their work. Really, we’re not kidding, look it up: Mary Gaitskill, Lena Dunham, Chuck Palahniuk, Erica Jong, Emily Nussbaum, Joe Swanberg, Sylvia Plachy, Tao Lin, Norman Mailer, Camille Paglia, Elizabeth Wurtzel, to name a few.
The Nerve Network allows young writers to chase their passions and express honest, fearless thoughts alongside some of the greats. Come show the world what you got.
You can get PAID. As a member of the Nerve’s Writer Network, if your posts draws more than 40,000 unique visitors in a month, you will automatically be paid $300 dollars. Far more than our competitor’s baseline freelance fee.
What We Seek
Nerve seeks writing that turns us on. We want work that’s fearless and full of uptempo wit, regardless of subject. We want to be shocked. We don’t care where else you’ve published or where you went to school or how old you are. Nerve seeks writing that amplifies experience regardless of genre. Dangerously personal essays and heart-stopping fiction are in our wheelhouse. Well reported pieces on strange obsessions or subcultures still in the shadows, we like those, too. Wow us. Scare us. Change our minds. We seek to have the most fun that’s legal.
